Immerse yourself in an authentic Halloween experience this October Bank Holiday

weekend as Samhain Family Festival invites young and old to a weekend of virtual and in-
person events celebrating the magical art of storytelling.

On 24 October, from 11am, Samhain online will bring storytelling into homes across
Ireland with world-renowned Seanchaí Eddie Lenihan on location from Bunratty Folk Park.
Eddie will open a door into the past with stories of “other folk”, while our modern
seanchaí — actor and playwright Emmet Kirwan, actress Tara Flynn, author Peter Murphy
and Drag Story Time’s Storyteller Avoca Reaction — will enchant a new generation with
adapted and brand-new tales read by the fireside in Dublin’s James Joyce Centre.
There will be spells cast for the youngest of ears, as Samhain’s good witch Cailleach will
be taking audiences through a magical journey of mindfulness, yoga and positive vibes as
we emerge from our hibernations. And what spooky festival would be complete without a
creepy crawly ditty from one of Ireland’s most beloved eccentric performers, Jerry Fish,
as he treats audiences to songs and stories shot on location at the historic Smock Alley
Boys’ School.
